As of the moment of writing this page, the Land Notes app is 100% free to use on both Android and iOS phones. Over the course of its development, I have probably put in over $20,000 worth of resources (including my time) in order to bring this tool to the point where other people can use it for free.

In an effort to recoup even a fraction of my inputs, I have included space for banner ads in the app. Conventionally, this would mean that an ad service would use their fancy algorithms to decide what to put in the box, based off whatever the algorithm thinks will make it the most money. While there are advantages to that approach, I do not wish to have my app be a place for advertising things that are outside of my comfort zone. Instead, I have decided to try and curate ads for brands, products, and services that I believe in and would feel comfortable personally recommending to a friend who is interested in the same things I am.

If you are interested in placing an ad in the Land Notes app, here are a few details:

  • Images should be 640×100 pixels. On most phones they will display as 320×50.
  • You will tell me up front how many impressions you want and I will tell the system to keep your ad in the mix until it reaches that goal.
  • The app does not have a large user base yet. If you want 1 million impressions, it might take a while to reach that.
  • Ads will be charged at a cost of US$5 per 1000 impressions.

Approval criteria for ads are as follows:

  • I need to personally believe in what you are advertising.
  • I need to feel like your ad is a somewhat good fit for the users of this app.
  • I need to feel like your ad looks visually acceptable.
  • I need to feel like the website that your ad sends people to provides a good mobile experience.

If you are still interested, please fill out the form below and let me know what you wish to advertise (including a link!) and how many impressions you are looking for. If it feels like a good fit, I will strive to get back to you as soon as I can.

By the way, if you want to share your thoughts or feedback on the app, including new feature ideas or just reporting bugs, please do so on the Land Notes Discord server, which you can gain access to here:
